The Studies to Keep Electronic Cigarettes Going

Doctors looking at

Contrary to what’s being said right now in the media or even by the FDA, there are in fact many clinical trials along with different research projects that have been conducted for electronic cigarettes. These findings have produced promising results for vaping enthusiasts and the industry in general.

With that said, here are 10 studies that’ve been conducted in debunking many false notions about electronic cigarettes:

Study #1: Nicotine in secondhand vapor, yes. Combustible toxins, no: In December of 2013, there was a study published by The Oxford Journal that stated that a group of scientists took a look at what toxins are in fact found in secondhand vapor. They found no combustible related toxins in them and just a tiny amount of nicotine was even found in the secondhand vapor that was exhaled. They concluded that more studies would still need to be done in order to make the final determination of their findings.

Study #2: Vaping doesn’t stiffen the arteries: The Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in Greece found that when someone smokes just two tobacco cigarettes, it caused the stiffening of the aorta to occur instantly. Electronic cigarettes though caused nothing to the aorta and the person’s arteries were fine.

Study #3: Flavored e-liquids help smokers stop using tobacco: Dr. Konstantino Farsalinos headed up a study that determined e-liquids were important contributors in reducing or eliminating smoking consumption.

Study #4: Not only does smoking kill, but so can vaping regulations: Medical and executive Director Dr. Gilbert Ross of the American Council on Science and Health gave a detailed analysis on electronic cigarettes, concluding that they’re much healthier than tobacco cigarettes. He suggested that regulating the vaping industry could be a deadly decision for public health.

Study#5: Preventing a relapse: At Aukland Universtiy and Geneva University, researchers studied the impact of electronic cigarettes on former smokers. Their conclusions were these devices might prevent former smokers from relapsing into tobacco use, and they could effectively help current smokers kick their habit.

Study #6: They aren’t a gateway to tobacco usage amongst teens: At the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Dr. Ted Wagener studied what the effects were of the electronic cigarette being used on 1,300 college students. His findings were only one person went on to start smoking tobacco cigarettes. His final conclusion: They weren’t a gateway to tobacco use.

Study #7: E-liquids pose no concerns for public health: Professor Igor Burstyn of Drexel University School of Public Health studied e-liquids to determine if their chemicals could be dangerous. He refuted all the most widespread health concerns about e-liquids.

Study #8: Health improves after making the switch: Independent university researchers conducted a study to find whether switching to electronic cigarettes had any influence on health. They concluded that 91% of smokers that switched to these vaping devices had improved health. They also noted that 97% had reduced or completely eliminated chronic coughs.

Study #9: Electronic cigarettes can help you cut-down and possibly quit: A study was conducted at The University of Catania to learn whether electronic cigarettes would be effective smoking cessation devices. After six months, close to 25% of participants had quit smoking completely. Over 50% had cut their cigarette usage in half.

Study #10: Secondhand exposure to vapor poses no risks: In a French study, researchers found that an electronic cigarette’s vapor can dissipate within an average of 11 seconds. In sharp contrast, cigarette smoke lingered for an average of 20 minutes. They concluded that secondhand exposure to vapor causes no public risk.

There are more studies out there that show the positives and real findings of vaping. Just these 10 studies alone clearly show that electronic cigarettes are a better alternative.
